Trainees attending an Institute prior to NADE 2004 must submit a Full Application no later than July 1, 2006. Programs submitting an application under the 2004 or 2005 guidelines must submit the Preliminary Application no later than July 1, 2007. After July 1, 2007, all applications must follow the guidelines published in 2006 or later. Please note that all applications postmarked on or after July 1, 2006 must be accompanied by the $1,000 application fee.
As of the October 2005 Training Institute, trainees who wish to apply for certification must submit by July 1 of the fifth year following the most recent training attended. It is strongly recommended that all applicants attend a Certification update session between the date of the Institute attended and submission of the application. An update session is offered at the annual NADE conferences. Programs not submitting a completed application within two years of attending a Training Institute are strongly encouraged to attend another Institute.

The NADE Certification Council is pleased to announce significant changes in NADE Certification. Our intention is to streamline both the application and review phases of the Certification process. The Council believes this transformation will result in a simpler, more efficient course of action yielding the same desired results as the original method: improved instruction, programs, and services for students in developmental education and learning assistance programs.
Programs currently in the pipeline will have the option of following the original procedures or the new, streamlined procedures. Applicants attending initial training after October 2005 must apply using the new, streamlined process.
